A Beginner's Guide on How to Buy a Rectangle Shade Sail

The rectangle shade sail, also known as a sun sail, can be made from different fabrics such as shade cloth, textiline, sunbrella or light-weight durable materials.  This type of shade sail is potentially best when manufactured from a UV resistant fabric, such as shade cloth.  When correctly installed, the rectangular sun sail should not flap in the wind and should be taught between fixing points; therefore, a centenary curve is required for the sail to not sag in the middle area.

Shade Sail

Of course, finding the ideal rectangle shade sail can be a difficult task as the material and manufacturer needs to be correct.  Fortunately, rectangular shade sails can be purchased in a plethora of different colors and sizes to meet one's specific needs.  The typical size available when purchasing a shade sail online involves a 12x8, 12x14, 12x16, and 12x18 option.  Yet, as has been mentioned it is not necessary to choose these sizes and one can customize the sail.  It is, however, recommended that you keep the width great because narrow shades tend to curve inward and this can be detrimental.

Before buying a rectangle sun sail online it is necessary to consider the issue of sail construction and the materials used during production.  Searching for rectangle sails that are created using heavy-duty fabric, such as sunbrella or an equivalent can be beneficial.  Of course, there are several different types of materials that are as good as or better than the sunbrella material design including Monotec 370 and Synthesis 95.  The Cooltrashade alternative is considered one of the best in the industry and may be worth the cost.

Less expensive rectangular shade sails do not always present with UV treated thread and this can be a problem.  It is recommended that you purchase sun sails that include materials using UV treated awning thread.  The Tenara Gore Tex is considered to be one of the best awning threads in the industry because of its heavy-duty fabric with UV treatment.  Any inferior awning threads can disintegrate the sail and leave it virtually useless.

When a heavy-duty rectangular shad sail is installed correctly, it will be able to withstand winds of up to 90 miles per hour or more.  Sails created for shade should be installed on wooden or steel posts; however, steel posts are the preferable option if you are interested in qualifying for wind ratings according to city code.  The footings should be equivalent to approximately one third of the post length.  For example, if the post is 12 feet approximately 4 feet must be place in the ground within a hole diameter of 24 inches.

Once purchased and installed, the rectangular shade said can be arranged in various ways.  It should, however, be installed at a suitable height to gain the correct look and provide shade for the users.  This type of shade is far more beneficial when compared to triangular shades because it offers more shade and protection for family and property.
